There is good news!  At Fresh Heads, we recommend the use of a silicone oil solution to suffocate lice.  The use of a blended Dimethicone Oil solution specifically formulated to kill head lice is the most effective treatment option currently available.  In a blind study, the use of a properly formulated blend of dimethicone is shown to be incredibly effective at killing live lice.  Additionally, this treatment is inexpensive and completely non-toxic.  Dimethicone will not, however, kill nits.  Fresh Heads uses Dimethicone in all our treatments, and we offer it for sale to the do-it-yourselfer.
